This is great news. It also probably means that F1 dropped it’s charge. They wanted an insane amount of money FROM THE RING in order to run there.

F1 was there th e last two years and four out of the last six.
I’m OK with with the ‘ring if it happens, but I hope they run some promotional laps on the Nordschl ei fe. They may have to add a few inches of travel to the modern F1 cars...I think the last car to run there was 2007.

Last year at Hockenheim was to be the last race there for the foreseeable future and only made it on the 2019 calendar due to Mercedes stepping in to be the title sponsor .
I’d love to see cars on the Nordschleife too but like you said, they would only be promotional laps. Nick Heidfeld talks about that run on F1's Beyond the Grid podcast.

Wouldn’t even need DRS! I ’m ecstatic about seeing Mugello, Imola, and Portimao on the calendar. They’re really making the best out of a bad situation.
